Private midwifery can be genuinely life changing so MAMA has a privileged purpose. I want to amplify the positive impact and help the team empower more families.
Through MAMA, my dream is we can ensure all families can choose to have an empowering and supported journey into parenthood.
I am passionate about being able to support our team of midwives, lactation consultants and allied health practitioners – they all do such important work and to be able to support them is very rewarding.
The energy of the amazing people who work here and the beautiful families who give us the honour of caring for them is something that I can feel when I enter the building... even when it's empty.
I love getting to know clients over the course of their pregnancy to then meet their gorgeous little humans!
I was inspired to work at MAMA because of my passion for supporting holistic care and the chance to contribute to a place that values women and community.
MAMA Midwives
What I love most about my role is to support new families in the rollercoaster of (preparing for) postpartum. To give them knowledge, skills, hope and support, to achieve their goals and even more important to feel heard, seen and supported in this intense time.
To be given an opportunity to work with families surrounded by the team at MAMA, alongside incredibly caring, professional, and respectful healthcare providers is a dream job that I am so very grateful for.
I especially love facilitating some of the free feeding drop-in sessions that run twice weekly, they are such a great opportunity for women to seek some general advice and support from an IBCLC and meet other mothers.
My biggest passion (especially after birthing my daughter) is in women-centred care. There is so much in the traditional hospital and birthing system that is missing, misunderstood or stacked against the mother and I feel so lucky to be able to contribute to the evidence-based, women-centred practice at MAMA.
I am looking towards the future of MAMA and private midwifery practice with gratitude. I am honoured to take the reins of my ‘first baby’ again and I am so grateful for the wonderful team at MAMA as we seek to support more positive transitions to parenthood for more families across Victoria.
I have been a midwife for over 20 years and love it. The birth of my first son inspired me to become the midwife I am. To this day I remember my midwife and the impact she has had on my life- I want to be that support for other families.
I am passionate about creating a space where mothers and birthing people feel truly held, informed, and confident to make choices that are right for them.
I believe that women and birthing people can meet their most fierce and empowered selves through birth, and that the love, care and safety of a known midwife can be an integral person in achieving this.
Being the mother of three homebirthed children, I am passionate about women knowing their choices and feeling empowered to make the right decision for themselves.
I love witnessing families journey from our first appointment together, through their births and postpartum and seeing the incredible transformation that occurs. Not just for the woman/birthing person and their baby, but for those important to them.
MAMA allows midwifery to be practiced in a way that midwifery should be practiced. I am passionate about providing woman-centred, individualised care and that is exactly what MAMA is all about.
I love holding space and witnessing the deep transformative shifts that often unfold throughout a pregnancy, during birth, and during the tender postpartum time.
After having 3 very different birth experiences myself, I can appreciate the individual journeys other women embark and support them through their own.
One of my favourite things about midwifery is witnessing pregnant people connect with their bodies on a whole new level, step into their power, and realise their innate strength.
The part about MAMA that is most special to me is the team here. These are some of the best midwives around and I love that if I can't make it to a birth for any reason the women that I care about will be looked after beautifully by one of my team members.

Education
I’m increasingly passionate about parents stepping into their power - entering birth with self-trust & emerging into parenthood with confidence. I’m also passionate about having ample time to expose people to different perspectives, share some laughs, cultivate connections with me and other parents & reassure them that their internal knowing will combine with what they learn so that they can make the right choices for their family.
I had a sense, the way children do about things, that birth - and the bonds formed at birth - hold all the most important secrets about our world. I also sensed I would never be at my happiest unless worked with women and babies. I now know both of these to be true.
I love educating and talking to families about how to care for their families. I'm passionate about making the class realistic and actionable steps you can apply in your every day life.
Teaching, and thinking of new ways to teach and deliver content for the childbirth and parenting classes. Information on childbirth and parenting is constantly evolving, and delivery of content will change depending on the participants who attend the class, and the current research.
Educating families across the spectrum of pregnancy, birth and postpartum is one of my favourite parts of being a midwife so teaching childbirth education classes felt like a natural progression!
I believe in providing individualised, holistic care, supporting women to make informed choices, and staying true to midwifery. I am particularly passionate about postnatal care and breastfeeding support, and love supporting families through the magic and challenges of the first 6 weeks postpartum.
Many of us come with deep-seated ideas about healthcare, the power of women, what family means, where we hold community, and how we love. My passion is to dovetail all those elements with evidence-based midwifery practice, and sometimes be a little goofy in the process.
I believe childbirth education is such an essential part of birthing people having an empowered and positive birth experience, so I feel excited and honoured to be a part of that knowledge sharing at MAMA.

Allied (Kensington)
My transition into parenthood led me to a nurturing workspace where my colleagues and clients are working to find balance physically, emotionally and mentally. I feel well placed to provide genuine, empathic and evidence-based care to all my clients.
I love helping parents, and when I see them come into the clinic a couple of months later and they look like parenting professionals, it's nice to think that maybe I had a hand in supporting their journey.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is supporting women and their families throughout pregnancy and beyond. It's incredibly fulfilling to be a part of their journey, from prenatal care to postpartum adjustments and caring for their beautiful children/ families.
Yoga has greatly supported me throughout my pregnancies and into motherhood, and this, along with my experience as a teacher, energises a particular passion for holding space and educating women on the benefits of yoga, empowering them to trust their bodies and innate capabilities.
Knowledge is power, and the more we know about our bodies (especially a part of our bodies that many have been taught to feel shame or embarrassment about) the more we can understand and use it to its full potential.
MAMA is special to me because it embodies a holistic, compassionate approach to maternal care; prioritising individualised support, whilst recognising that each woman's experience is unique.
I have worked in the birth arena for over forty-five years, attending births, educating countless birthing women and their partners, also offering counselling and birth debriefing.
I love the continuity of care in this role; supporting women through their pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond…into the next pregnancy…and for many years after!
