Fourth Trimester Workshop

3 hours of content | Explore life after birth in an intimate & safe environment.

Participants will walk away with some food for thought & an idea of what to expect in their new normal once baby arrives.

This is not a class on sleep training or settling techniques. Instead, we focus on the emotional, physical, and identity shifts of early parenthood, normal newborn behaviours, and how to feel supported through the raw and real early weeks.

A midwife-led workshop for expectant parents preparing for the emotional journey beyond birth

Many parents wish someone had prepared them for the emotional and identity changes that happen after birth, not just the practical baby care. This workshop was designed to fill that gap. It’s not a class on sleep training, swaddling, or parenting techniques. Instead, it offers a compassionate space to explore the real experience of becoming a parent and navigating the first 12 week; the Fourth Trimester.

Who is this workshop for?

This session is ideal for expectant parents in their third trimester who want to:

  • Understand the physical, emotional, and psychological shifts that come after birth

  • Explore the challenges and surprises of early parenthood with realistic expectations

  • Reflect on identity changes and how to nurture themselves through transition

Whether this is your first baby or you’re seeking a deeper understanding beyond practical skills, this workshop is a safe place to ask questions, share, and learn, guided by a registered midwife.

What you’ll explore:

  • How your newborn’s behaviours reflect deep development and adjustment, not ‘problems’ to be fixed

  • The meaning of matrescence and patrescence, the profound identity changes parents undergo

  • Emotional wellbeing in early parenthood: coping with overwhelm, stress, and shifting relationships

  • Building connection with your baby and nurturing your own needs

  • Creating a support network and setting boundaries for a sustainable transition

This is a workshop about becoming a parent, not about doing parenting perfectly. It’s about understanding, compassion, and preparing yourself emotionally for the journey ahead.

What will you learn?

Your Investment: $150 for two people
