When we opened MAMA's doors in Kensington back in 2011, we had a vision: that every family in Melbourne could access the kind of midwifery care that truly changes the experience of becoming a parent. Continuity. Warmth. Evidence-based clinical expertise from midwives who knows your name, your story, and what matters most to you.
For over a decade, that vision has grown — more than 2,500 families cared for, a team of midwives with over 150 years of combined experience, and a reputation as Victoria's most experienced private midwifery practice.
And now, we're thrilled to share that MAMA has a brand new home in Caulfield South.
Why Caulfield South?
We've always known that families across Melbourne's south-east have been looking for this kind of care. Parents in Elsternwick, Brighton, Carnegie, Bentleigh, and beyond have been travelling to our Kensington clinic because they wanted what MAMA offers, and we wanted to bring it closer to them.
Our new clinic at 712 Glen Huntly Rd, Caulfield South is our answer. It means that if you're in Glen Huntly, Ormond, McKinnon, Malvern, St Kilda East, or anywhere across the bayside and inner south-east, you now have experienced private midwives right in your neighbourhood.
A Space Our Midwives Built Themselves
Here's something we love about this clinic: our midwives renovated it themselves. And we don't mean they chose a paint colour from a swatch. We mean they sanded, painted, built, decorated, hunted through marketplaces for the right pieces, cleaned, organised, and moved everything in — all while still attending their usual appointments and meeting beautiful babies. Some of their kids even pitched in during the school holidays.
It sounds like a lot because it was. But if there's one thing we've learned, it's this: what can't midwives do?
The same hands that will hold space for you during labour and help you find your rhythm with breastfeeding are the hands that built this clinic from the ground up. And that feels right. Because we wanted our Caulfield South space to feel the way our care feels — warm, thoughtful, and personal.
The transformation has been incredible to watch. What was once an empty space is now a place where you can settle in for long appointments with your midwife, bring your toddler along, join an education class, or sit and chat with other new parents in the area. It's a clinic, yes, but it's also a community space for families in Melbourne's south-east who are looking for something more from their pregnancy and postnatal care.

Home birth and hospital birth packages with full continuity of care from early pregnancy through to eight weeks postpartum. Your midwife knows you, and you know them.
Bulk-billed pregnancy appointments
Unlimited time with your midwife, no out-of-pocket cost for clinic visits. This is where the relationship deepens, where your questions get the time they deserve, and where you start to feel genuinely prepared.
Postnatal home visits and clinic care
Four postnatal visits in your home during the first week, then unlimited clinic appointments for eight weeks. Your midwife continues to guide you through early feeding, recovery, and the emotional adjustment to parenthood.
Lactation support
Our IBCLC lactation consultants offer one-on-one appointments and free group sessions so you feel confident and supported with feeding.
Birth and parenting education
Our brand new education space in Caulfield South is already filling up. We offer midwife-led birth classes, VBAC workshops, baby first aid, and breastfeeding courses — all practical, evidence-based, and designed to leave you feeling calm rather than overwhelmed.
Allied health services
Women's health physio, osteopathy, chiropractic, yoga, internal pelvic release, and birth debriefing, all under one roof.
