Ruth L’Huillier
My name is Ruth (she/her), and excited to be a Midwife at the Caufield Clinic.
What inspired you to work at MAMA?
I have been interested in midwifery since studying and working as a paramedic for many years. After experiencing private midwifery support with my first daughter, then having my second baby at home with MAMA midwives, I knew this is where I belonged.
What are you passionate about at MAMA?
I’m passionate about providing evidenced based care that supports choice and autonomy for women and birthing people. I believe in the need for people to feel safe and supported in their choices and experiences as they grow, birth and care for their baby.
What are your favourite things about your role?
My favourite part of working as a MAMA midwife is having the time to really get to know the families we work with. Creating trusting relationships is so rewarding when supporting people through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Where would we find you outside of MAMA?
When I’m not working you will most likely find me with my two girls having a coffee, at the park or baking in the kitchen together. Where we can fit it in, we love a camping trip in our very vintage caravan.
