Education for Parents

Our team of midwives and lactation consultants have been enjoying teaching small group classes since 2015. Our classes are evidence-based & interactive, with time to learn important information and connect with the local community. We have had the privilege of teaching over 2,000 clients so far, and are proud that our courses are well-loved!

The main goal of our education classes is to help parents to feel more informed, supported and confident in their decision-making in this new chapter.

Our Approach

Our childbirth education is based on physiology, informed decision-making and best available evidence. There truly is no one-size-fits-all approach and the ultimate goal is to help parents feel confident navigating their birth & to have a positive experience.

Our early parenting education blends exploration with practical skill-building. Some classes invite you to gently reflect on the transition into the fourth trimester with curiosity, while others offer hands-on guidance in areas like first aid and breastfeeding.

Whatever class you prefer, we’re here to support you in feeling confident and connected in this new transition.

Accessibility Information

At MAMA, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for all families.

Our Caulfield class location includes stairs and does not currently have lift access.

If you have mobility considerations, use a wheelchair, or would prefer step-free access, we warmly encourage you to join our classes at our Kensington location, which offers ramp access and requires no stairs to navigate.

Please contact our team if you need more information.

VBAC Online Workshop

A welcoming online space for parents who have chosen VBAC instead of a repeat caesarean section to explore the topic, ask questions, and gently unpack common myths and fears that they may have encountered so far. Perfect for those with toddlers, this short online workshop focuses on discussion, understanding and connection.

For hands-on tools and comprehensive birth education, we recommend pairing it with our Classic Course. For those who are hoping to have 1:1 time for support in weighing up the choice between a repeat CS or VBAC, an appointment with our midwifery team is the best avenue.

    • Exploring VBAC

    • VBAC statistics

    • Evidence on risks

    • How to optimise your chance of VBAC

    • Positive birth experiences
