Taylor Ferne-Morris
My name is Taylor and I’m a childbirth educator at MAMA, as well as a registered midwife working clinically in public maternity care.
What inspired you to work at MAMA?
Before joining MAMA, I had admired the practice from afar for many years. As a midwife, I deeply align with MAMA’s philosophy and holistic approach to midwifery, pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. I was drawn to the way MAMA supports families with warmth, evidence-based care, and a strong sense of community. Being part of a space that empowers families with knowledge, confidence and support felt like a dream fit for me.
What are you passionate about at MAMA?
I’m passionate about supporting families to feel informed, confident and safe as they prepare for birth and early parenthood. I love helping people understand their options, trust their bodies, and feel empowered to make decisions that are right for them and their families. Creating a safe and welcoming space where questions are encouraged and conversations are open is something that means a lot to me.
What are your favourite things about your role?
One of my favourite parts of my role is providing fun and engaging, evidence-based childbirth education for growing families and watching their confidence grow as they prepare for this next chapter of life. It’s incredibly rewarding to see people walk into a class feeling unsure or overwhelmed and leave feeling excited, capable and supported.
Where would we find you outside of MAMA?
Outside of work, I’m usually spending time with the people I love most. I’m very much a homebody and love the simple comforts of a slow day at home. I especially love winter when it’s raining and cold outside. You’ll often find me curled up with my dog and a big cup of tea, reading or listening to an audiobook, painting, or dancing around the lounge room to my ever-growing collection of vinyl records. As a former ballet dancer, movement has always been a big part of my life. These days I am trying to re-incorporate more yoga into my life and am exploring breathwork whenever I have the time.
