Why Families Choose MAMA for Hospital Births
Continuity of Care
You’re supported by a small, known team of midwives - not whoever is rostered on the day.
Evidence‑Based & Individualised
We support all risk profiles and believe in informed choice, not one‑size‑fits‑all care.
Strong Birth Outcomes
Our clients experience high rates of spontaneous vaginal birth and lower intervention rates compared to standard models of care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Many Melbourne hospitals welcome private midwives to attend births. We have chosen to remain ‘uncredentialled’ in hospitals in order to remain employed by you, and able to fully support you without the influence of hospital policies or guidelines. This means we will not provide clinical care in the hospital, but will remain with you as a known physical & emotional support and advocate.

Safety depends on individual circumstances. We support informed decision‑making and helping you choose the birth setting that feels safest for you.
