Appointments

  • Discovery appointments are bulk billed & have no out-of-pocket cost, regardless if you have Medicare or not.

  • Please choose the clinic location that is closest to where you live if you are hoping to view the clinic where your midwifery care would likely take place. We currently offer Discovery Appointments in Kensington, Caulfield South, and Warragul. 

  • Our booking calendar is only open 3 weeks in advance, and new appointments are released weekly. If you need an appointment at a different time, please email our admin team for support so we might open up more availability.

  • Your Discovery Appointment is a 40-minute conversation with an experienced midwife.

    It is a chance to learn about your care options, understand the MAMA care model, hear about our packages & fees, ask any questions on your mind, and get support in choosing the model of care & provider that feels right for you. 

  • Yes!

    A Discovery Appointment is suitable whether you are considering homebirth or planning to birth in hospital. It is a helpful first step to talk through your options and learn how MAMA can support you. 

  • No. You are welcome to book a Discovery Appointment whether you are simply gathering information or feeling ready to take the next step in your care. 

  • Discovery Appointments run for 40 minutes. This gives you time to ask questions, explore your options, and get clear information from an experienced midwife. 

  • Yes. We love having support people or partners joining so that we can also answer any questions that they may have. 

  • Yes. The Discovery Appointment is designed to be the perfect first step with MAMA, whether you are early in your research or ready to begin your care journey. 

  • You will meet with an experienced midwife who can guide you through your options, answer your questions, and help you understand more about MAMA’s approach to care. 

  • That is completely okay. The Discovery Appointment is designed for people who want clear, supportive information before making any decisions about their care.
